Dandelion Wine

DIY Dandelion Wine  <-------- I found this great post about making dandelion wine.  I love dandelions and I love wine.  Peter has been brewing his own beer - maybe I will start making my own wine.  I'll post pictures of the process when I do it.... which won't be for awhile since we still have a lot of snow on the ground.

Little Women

I am in my hometown (Binghamton) watching Little Women, drinking wine, eating a danish and strawberries, and knitting a new yellow scarf (I am a multi-tasker).  I love this movie so much, it never gets old.  It makes me want to start a treasure chest of costumes and have plays in my attic.

Flowers!

I've been trying to think spring, think spring... I made these flowers out of felt and beads.  I want to make a bazillion of these and put them all over my apartment, turn up the heat, close the curtains, toast marshmellows over a candle (I use to actually do this when I was a kid) and think of spring and summer.  I really can't wait!

Creepy beautiful tree

Peter and I went for a walk around the neighborhood last night and came across this wonderful tree - this picture doesn't even really show how great it was... I am still trying to figure out how to use my new camera.

Finally finished my scarf!!

This is the second scarf I have ever finished! And the first infinity scarf I have ever made.  It took a lot longer than I thought it would - about 3-4 days... I love the color it's like the color of peas.  I think I might try to make some yellow socks next!

Necklaces

I started making these wool ball necklaces.  I have a bunch of vintage buttons - some are fish, some have bicycles or cats on them, I use them as clasps.  They're really simple but the colors are super vibrant.  I want to put some on chains too.

Chair 2

I made this chair after the bird chairs.  I still need to put a coat or two more orange paint on it - I forgot to sand the chair down before painting it, this is still very new to me.  I love this warrior fabric though - I found it on ebay.  I still have about  a yard left, and don't know what to do with it.

Chairs

This is also another first for me.... reupholstering chairs.  I've never even used a staple gun before... so fun!!  I love this fabric - I got it from the local Elmwood Village Fabrics.  After I did this chair and it turned out well I started taking everything in the apartment apart and reupholstering everything.

Dressers

I made this dresser a couple of weeks ago.  It's the first time I have done anything like this.  I found this great sailboat wallpaper on ebay and used spray adhesive to apply it to the front of the drawers.  I painted the wood a soft yellow.  It turned out really great.  My friend is giving me a dresser today to work on, I'm thinking some type of geometric black and white wallpaper and turqoise paint.  We'll see...
