I heard about Urban Outfitters ripping off an etsy seller, tru.che.  Stevie posts about it here on her blog.  Basically, they stole her designs, even using the same name for the product and are charging half the price. Ughh, I'm so bummed, I really liked Urban Outfitters...but I can't support that!  Shady, shady business...

Music

The highlight of my morning was hearing this song play on the radio on my drive to work.  It always brings me back to my childhood, and makes me feel super sentimental.  I got goosebumps, but that also could just be because I was wearing shorts in 50 degree weather.  Well whatever, I plan on adding this to my summer playlist.

DIY

I don't have any time to do this myself, but you might.  It's an old How Tuesday from Etsy - Make Your Own Sandals.  They look fairly easy to make, and wayyy comfy.

Buffalo

I can't believe Buffalo and I are about to celebrate our ten year anniversary!!  We've had our fair share of struggles and disagreements, but in the end I think we love each other very much.  We have grown and learned so much together... here's to another ten years (ehh... maybe not ten- maybe 2?).

Homes

I am the type of person who likes things.  I am always buying things from the thrift store and giving things to the thrift store, it is a constant rotation of recycling.  While I like sparse clean spaces, I can't help but surround myself with beautiful things.  I can't stand too much clutter though, it has to be a controlled chaos.    Eventually I get to the point where my things overwhelm or suffocate me, and then I grab some garbage bags and toss everything in.  It feels a little silly and wastefull (in terms of money, I don't throw the items away or anything).  I think I prefer spaces that look lived in, spaces that tell stories through the treasures and paintings and items throughout.  Clean simple spaces remind me of hotels or hospitals.

Friends!

My bestie Reanna, with the love of her life.

Pop up shop

How cool would it be to take a pop up shop....

...and put it on wheels.  Like Viggo Mortensen's character, "the blouse man" in A Walk on the Moon (if you have not watched this movie, WATCH IT).

Your shop could travel to different people and different towns.

And it wouldn't have to look like a gross truck, you could jazz it up.  Instead of paying for rent, you would pay for gas.  And travel, and meet all kinds of great people... all the while, selling your beautiful things.

Websites

Seriously... Jennifer Causy's, The Makers is blowing my mind!  I can't believe I have not heard of this site before.  I think it might top The Selby.  The site is dedicated to showcasing various Brooklyn artists.  I love looking at artist's projects, and even more than their projects, I love looking at their studios and process.  Jennifer includes so many great photos, you really get a feel for what the artist is about, or what their style or point of view is.  Below are a few of my favorite photos, but go to the site yourself and check it out, get inspired!

Food

I love these photos by Carl Kleiner.  I love food, order, and geometry- so this is right up my alley.
