Books

I recently purchased Wild Color, a book about natural dyes.  I am going to start buying undyed yarn and dip dying my own yarns in natural dyes... who knows I might even eventually buy my own spinning wheel.

I also recently bought Learning to Weave, by Deborah Chandler.  The cover makes it look a little dated but it got amazing reviews.  I figure this will hold me over until the Rochester Weaver's Guild starts their Fall Classes.

Also - I just have to get this off my chest.  But I had a dream last night that Steve Martin had a studio in the same building as mine and he was making vacuum cleaners out from boondoggle.....  haha it was pretty amazing.

Oh my god, so cute!

Etsy Wants

Loving Scout & Catalogue's Etsy Shop!  So many nice pieces.  I know I shouldn't buy or use leather, but  there's still a part of me that wants to because the pieces usually last a lifetime.  Hmm... it's a struggle.

Inspiration

One of the women I nanny for gave me an article in the Times about online design magazines, Lonny was one of them.  I had never heard of it before, but I visited, and was pleasantly surprised.  Lots of inspiration.

Nails

Love these!

Beautiful Things

I saw this Upcycled Delhi Rang Wallet on Mint Blog.  I'm in need of a new wallet, and this one looks so great!  It's made from plastic bags found on the streets of Delhi.  I'm a big fan of simple small wallets like this, and I love the watercolory pattern.  If anyone wants to buy this for me, that would be awesome!

Knit Inspiration

I knit my first cape, it's pretty cute - it's cowl neck, lime green and has two big pouf poms that come down from the cinch neck.  I would just post a picture, but my camera never recovered from the lake incident.  Hmph.. anyways, I'm impressed with myself and looking for some new inspirtation.

Blankets! Not Baby.

Knit

Almost done knitting my first hat!  I don't know if you remember this post, but way back in February I bought this yarn from Pickles, and it is some of the best yarn ever!  It's cashmere merino and silk merino and it is so light, and sooooooo soft!  My friend Reanna got me a pom maker, so I'm gonna make some poms to go on the top.
