I wonder what it's like to have money?

I originally found this beeeautiful Calypso dress here.  Surprisingly their sale items are quite affordable (well some of them) and they have quite a bit of sale stuff.

Etsy Wants

So I am going to try to start saving more money and spending a lot less.  This won't stop me from scouring the internet for things I want.  But instead of buying them, like I usually do, I will just pass them on to whoever comes across this silly blog of mine.  Here are some great vintage items from Etsy.

OMG! A liquor chest music box!! Amazing!

and this... on vinyl. Yesterday I heard an interview with the band on NPR about the appeal of vinyl records today, and how excited they were to have their third album finally released in vinyl.  The lead singer said, it had become this thing where their label, Merge, wouldn't record their albums in vinyl because of cost.  She says when she finally had a copy of her bands record in hand, it solidifyed their status to her.  She didn't feel like a legitimate band until that moment.  Well anyways, I guess I feel good about buying it, I love their first two records.

here is a song from the new album:

Animals!

Haven't posted any animal pics in a while.  Luckily The Dainty Squid had plenty of amazing and awesome animal pics to choose from.  Here are some cuties... happy almost Friday!!!! eeeehhh!!  I want to live in that whale with that cat ... and that sassy squirrel.

Music

I've been listening to Toro Y Moi's new album, Underneath the Pine.  It's pretty good, it reminds me of a lot of other bands I listen to, maybe especially Tame Impala?

Projects

I've been working on images for a block print calendar for 2012.  I'm going to have it be a vegetable theme.  Each month will have a carved stamp image of one vegetable that is in season that month.  And I've been messing around with the idea of including a simple recipe for each month's vegetable.  Not completely sure how I would get it in print on the calendar though, since I am not screen printing.  I was thinking I could use a type writer, or letter stamps, but that would take so long to do on each individual page.  Any ideas?  I was also thinking it would be neat if it was on a removable card, so it could be added to a recipe box or something.  Below are rough sketches for block print stamp ideas.  All the scribbles are recipe ideas, I had to take these photos via laptop - sorry for the poor images.
